The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today continued on their second day tour of Scotland, accompanied by Prince Charles. The Duchess once again looked resplendent in a red Armani coat and tartan scarf. I am so impressed with Kate’s coat collection, she is continuing to embrace the cold British weather in style; A Duchess (or Countess for that matter) can never have too many Winter coats! The Duchess had her signature blow dried hair preened to perfection as usual, which is perhaps more than can be said for the plastic doll that was presented to her by a member of the public. Dayna Miller, 11, from Coylton, showed the Duchess the plastic doll, that had been given by her Mother as a Christmas present. The Duchess reportedly exclaimed ‘No! Oh no, is that me? Is that meant to be me? Does my hair really look like that!’
The Royal trio were visiting Dumfries House in Ayrshire, the Estate owned by Prince Charles’ charity The Great Steward of Scotland‘s Dumfries House Trust. Due to its significance and the risk of the furniture collection being distributed and auctioned, after three years of uncertainty, in 2007 the estate and its entire contents was purchased for £45m. The house duly re-opened in 2008, equipped for public tours. Since then various other parts of the estate have been re-opened for various uses, to provide both education and employment, as well as funding the trust’s running costs.
In other Royal news her majesty The Queen visited a chocolate factory with her husband the Duke of Edinburgh. They learned about turning raw cocoa beans into chocolate..sounds delicious! The Queen also looked magnificent as you can see below.
